“And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.”

 

 

When a believer physically binds something here on earth, it will be bound in the spiritual realm as well. This gives us the ability to bind demons, because they dwell within the spiritual realm. Binding is like a temporary spiritual handcuffing. You can bind a demon spirit, much like tying something up with rope or chains. You cannot bind a person’s free will, but the demons affecting or influencing that person.

 

Jesus taught us to bind the strong man, then we can plunder his house (Mark 3:27). This charge is not made to only Peter and the other Apostles, but to the whole society of believers. If you have been trying to witness to somebody, and seem to be getting nowhere, try binding the spirits of darkness that are preventing that person from seeing the light of the gospel.

You cannot bind a person’s will or force them to accept the gospel, but you can do something about the demons which are holding the person back. These include witchcraft spirits and environmental rulers of darkness.

 

This means that we Christians, like the apostles, are to speak as the authoritative spokesmen of Jesus and our decisions would be binding. Jesus spoke God’s authoritative words and authorized His apostles to speak those words to the Church. We can see this idea in the book of Hebrews:

“For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense, how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.” (Hebrews 2:2-4)

 

Loosing, like binding can also be done here on earth, and its effect recorded in the spiritual realm. Loosing however, refers to the untying of a captive or person in bondage. We bind demons, but we loose captives. When Jesus set free the woman with the issue of blood, He said unto her, “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” (Luke 13:12).

 

Beloved, as a believer with a privileged key to the kingdom of Heaven, it is time you started to manifest your power of binding and loosing. The power as of old is still available. Today, resolve to make use of it to plunder the stronghold of the strong man.

MORNING

1 I bind every strong man of failure at the edge of breakthrough in my life, in the name of Jesus.

2 All anti-breakthrough powers against my destiny, loose your hold in my life, in the name of Jesus.

3 I loose every yoke of affliction in my life, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4 Let the ground open up and swallow every band of wickedness in my life, in the name of Jesus.

5 I release myself from all ancestral demonic pollution, in the name of Jesus.

6 I remove my name from all demonic records, in the name of Jesus.

7 I bind all demonic activities against me in the air, in the seas and on land, in the name of Jesus.
