MOUNTAIN TOP LIFE DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR TODAY
The Bible enjoins believers to be led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14). Most times Christians believe and think that being led by the Spirit means that the Spirit of God tells them what to do and what to talk about, where to go.
Being led by the Spirit reassures that a believer receive a supernatural revelation/power to make correct decisions in life. Yes, the Holy Spirit guides believers to make certain choices than to go astray.
To be ‘led by the Spirit of God’ is to put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit. All those who do so are the Sons of God. All Sons of God (believers) are involved in putting to death the deeds of the body by the power of the Holy Spirit. Sanctification should be an ongoing process in the life of a believer, if this is not going on, they are not the sons of God.
So what does it mean to be led by the Spirit of God? It means growing in Holiness, i.e. when the Spirit of God is working in you, you are putting to death the deeds of the body.

It is an understanding that has nothing to do with supernatural revelation but everything to do with personal holiness. Galatians 5:18 says,
“If ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”
When you are not under the law, it means that you have been regenerated and united with Christ in his death and resurrection. To be led by the Spirit, you have to ‘walk in the Spirit’ (Galatians 5:16), not doing the deeds of the flesh but most importantly bearing the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) –love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness and faith. Dwell on what is good and excellent. Be open to how God is leading you, moment by moment. God has a plan for you.
