TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:8-9

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

GOODNEWS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY 6TH MARCH 2021

As a Christian, you do not need to try not to sin so that you can please God. When you try not to sin, you elevate what you think you can do to be right with God above what Christ has already done. Only those who are in the flesh try to please God. But you are not in the flesh.

How do you know you are not in the flesh? Today’s scripture tells us once you are saved, the Holy Spirit is inside you, and you are no longer in the flesh. The Spirit of God only dwells in those who are already right with God. That rightness is not because of anything you have done or will do.

It is because of everything Christ has already done for you. Refuse to be in bondage to the carnal mind—the mind that believes you need to “get right with God.”

Christ died so that you would not have to try to please God based on your own effort anymore. You did not have the power to do that, so He did it for you. Now all you need to do is believe that you are in right standing with God and live out of that belief.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

Everything that needed to be done to be right with God has already been done for me. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and God is pleased with me. Hallelujah!
