THANKSGIVING FOR THE RESURRECTION

TEXT: Isaiah 25:8 (KJV)

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces.

One of the hallmarks of our Christian faith is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. No other faith group can boast of this reality. Thank God that we have a saviour that is alive and lives forevermore. We do not worship a dead god but a living God.
Thank God that through Christ’s death and resurrection we have been born again to a living hope according to 1 Peter 1:3. His death and resurrection paid the price for our redemption. Death, sickness, poverty and the law have no power over us any more, for we have been redeemed by Christ. We have a living hope in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6.4 declares that “…just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Thank God the resurrection power is not just for our salvation, but it also empowers us to live a new life in Christ Jesus. We are new creations in Christ; old things have passed away. Our past is gone and has no hold on us anymore. We face the future with no regrets. Thank God that through His resurrection Jesus lives and sits at the right hand of God, interceding for us to bring into our reality all the benefits of His death and resurrection.
Thank God that the living hope we have in Jesus’ resurrection means that our life does not end here on earth when we die physically. Through the resurrection power, we will rise again just as He rose, and we will be with Him eternally. Romans 6:5 declares that if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.
Romans 8.11 declares that “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” Thank God for the quickening of your mortal body through the resurrection of Christ. Declare that your body is quickened and made strong and you already healed from any form of sickness or disease, and mental and emotional disorders in Jesus Name
Acts 2:24 tells us that it was impossible for death to hold Christ back. Thank God that in the same way nothing will be able to hold you back from becoming everything that God created and called you to be.
